davidbrucehaiku: Angel of the North

Angel of the North

Art can get funny nicknames

The Gateshead Flasher

NOTE: Antony Gormley designed this sculpture, which is in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. The wings are 177 feet across, and the sculpture is 66 feet tall. Some people opposed its construction, and today some people humorously call the sculpture The Gateshead Flasher although its real name is Angel of the North.
